not able to download/install my Free 14 Day Trial Server

valid for an additional 14 days? |
Yes. In order to receive another Trial
Server Certificate, you must generate and submit a new
CSR with a slightly different Organisational Unit. This
will prevent a duplication error. For example, if you
previously used "Marketing" as your Organisational
Unit, change it to "Marketing1" when you submit
your new CSR. |
|

Server Certificate that is valid for more than 14 days?
Can I extend the one that I have? |

period on an Certificate. |
|
| I attempted to
enroll for an additional Trial Server Certificate and
received a duplicate error. Why? |
| VeriSign cannot issue duplicate Certificates.
If you wish to enroll for an additional Certificate, you
must generate a new CSR with a slightly different Organisational
Unit and re-submit the enrolment. For example, if you
previously used "Marketing" as your Organisational
Unit, change it to "Marketing1" when you re-submit
your CSR.". |
|
| I never received
the Trial Server Certificate e-mail. Can you re-send it
to me? |
| Unfortunately, we are not able to re-issue Trial Server

| |
| Why can I only
generate a only a 512-bit key for the Trial Server Certificate? |
| The size of the key that you generate is based on the
type of server software you are using. Some server software
versions can only create 512 bit keys. If this is the
case, you may wish to upgrade your server software to
a platform that support 1024 bit key generation. Contact
your software vendor form more information. |
|
| Can I use the Trial
Server Certificate on my production server? |
| No. The Trial Server Certificate is to be
used only in testing environments. Trial Server Certificates
provide no assurance of your corporate identity to others.
VeriSign recommends using only Secure Site and Global
Site Certificates on your production server. |
|
| What is the CA
Root and why do I have to install it on all client browsers? |
| IWhen we issue an Certificate, we act as a Certification
Authority (CA). VeriSign digitally signs each Certificate
it issues. Each browser contains a list of CA’s
that are deemed to be "trusted.". The VeriSign
Trial CA is for testing purposes only and is not included
in any browser’s trust list. As a result, Trial
Server Certificates are not trusted by the browsers. To
use a Trial Server Certificate, you must install a special
Test CA Root on EACH BROWSER that you will be used to
accessing the Web site secured with the Trial Certificate. |
| |
| What are the terms
and conditions for the usage of a Trial Server Certificate? |
| A Trial Server Certificate has a number of restrictions
as to how they can be used. Full information on legal
requirements and usage of your Trial Server Certificate
can be found in the Subscriber Agreement. |
| |
| Is a Trial Server
Certificate the same as the certificate I purchase? |
| A Trial Server Certificate is a stripped
down generic version of a Secure Server Certificate. A
Secure Server Certificate may have some additional fields
for use in a live system (depending on your server software)
but, these differences are minor. Generally if you have
successfully installed a Trial Server Certificate, a purchased
Secure Server Certificate will work correctly on the same
server. |
